This piece is part of the “I don’t live for money campaign”, it depicts the parallel stories between well known South African footballer, Aubrey Madiba, and an aspiring footballer. Aubrey was actually discovered through the Nedbank cup, a platform which gives young players a chance to play against established teams. The programme transformed Aubrey’s life as it sky rocketed him to fame. But Aubrey is an incredibly grounded human, and even though he came from a disadvantaged background, he has not allowed the money to override his passion. I thought this message was very insightful and refreshingly humble.
